How It Works
One photograph in, a court portrait out — with a step in the middle that most shops skip: you see the finished artwork before anything is printed or delivered.
Four steps
- Attach the photograph and order. There is an upload field on the product page — a normal phone photo is completely fine, and you will see it confirmed in your cart. If you are buying this as a gift and do not have the photo yet, order anyway and reply to your confirmation email whenever you do.
- We art-direct it. This is the part that takes a person: matching the ear carriage, the markings, the shape of the face, the expression.
- You review it. Normally within 12 hours. Nothing is printed until you approve. Changes are unlimited and free.
- You approve. Digital files are delivered immediately. Prints go into production in the USA.
Show the ears
If we get one thing wrong, it is almost always ear shape — and it is the first thing an owner spots on their own animal. A slightly worse photograph where the ears are clearly visible beats a beautiful one taken from across the garden.
Also worth knowing
- One pet per photo. Two pets in one portrait is available — send a clear photograph of each.
- No people’s faces. Hands and arms are fine. A visible human face means we have to ask you for a different photograph.
- Closer beats further. Head and shoulders is more useful than a full body shot from a distance.
- Dark or blurry is not automatically a problem. One of the portraits in the collection was made from a photograph taken at night. If yours is borderline, we will tell you before we start rather than guess.
Is this AI?
Yes, partly, and we are not going to be cute about it.
Each portrait starts as an AI render. Then a person sits with it and fixes it, revision by revision, until it genuinely looks like your animal. The machine does the painting. A human does the looking, the judging and the correcting — which is the part that decides whether it looks like your pet or just a pet.
If what you want is a hand-painted oil on canvas by a human artist, we are genuinely not that, and we would rather tell you here than take your money and disappoint you.
What happens to my photograph?
We use it to make your portrait. We do not sell it, and we do not publish your photograph or your portrait as an example without asking you first.
